New York, N.Y. (Tuesday, May 6, 2008) – The New Jersey Ironmen staff and team mascot, IronDog, assisted in welcoming in the Sports Museum of America (SmA) today when they headed to Manhattan for the opening ceremony of the fan-interactive sports museum. Among those honored in the dedication was goalkeeper Tony Meola, who is now a member of the SmA Honorary Board of Trustees.
“It was a huge honor to share the stage with some of the greatest athletes to ever play sports,” Meola commented after the opening stage ceremony. “For a sports fan, the museum is definitely ‘one-stop shopping’ as far as a Hall of Fame is concerned. They did an excellent job of spreading the wealth among all sports.”
