After departing Philadelphia, Namazi spent one season as the head coach of the San Diego Spirit in the Women’s United Soccer Association (WUSA) and guided that team to their only postseason appearance. Namazi then returned to the MISL in December of 2003 as a player for Cleveland. The former MISL Defender of the Year (2001) was named the Force’s interim head coach on March 2, 2004, and he was promoted to the permanent position in April 2004 after leading the team to a 5-5 finish and a postseason appearance. Under his guidance, he led the Steamers to the MISL Championship Series Finals, his fourth consecutive finals appearance when spending a full season at the helm.
Namazi became the Head Coach/VP of Soccer Operations of the New Jersey Ironmen in 2007. He took the expansion club to the 2008 postseason, making the Ironmen his fourth MISL team he led to the playoffs.

A four-time MISL All-Star player, he was also voted the 2000-01 MISL Defender of the Year. Prior to playing indoors, Namazi also enjoyed a very successful career for numerous outdoor teams such as the Washington Diplomats, the Maryland Bays and the Ft. Lauderdale Strikers. While playing for the Philadelphia KiXX in 1997, he was also called up by the NY/NJ MetroStars of Major League Soccer.
